Fun, challenges and adventure for young people

Scouting offers fun, challenge and everyday adventure to over 450,000 young people in UK alone, while giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential. The principles of Scouting encourage the young people to develop inner discipline, be involved in group activities with others, understand the world around them and help create a more tolerant and caring society.

The young people take part in a wide range of activities that are aimed at challenging them and equipping them with a variety of skills. By doing these activities, they will work towards the many awards and badges achievable in Scouting, which include adventure, outdoors, teamwork, team leader, artist, faith, community impact fire safety, global issues, astronomer, craft, fundraising, water activities and many more.

Even though your child will not realise it yet, their experience in Scouting will help them to develop a whole range of important skills that higher education establishments and employers are looking for.

Whether applying for jobs, college, university or apprenticeships, competition is higher than ever. The skills your child will have developed through Scouting, including teamwork, interpersonal skills and decision-making, will help to set them apart from the crowd.
