The Islamic Society of Britain (ISB) in conjunction with the British Muslim Heritage Centre (BMHC) cordially invites you to attend an evening with singer/songwriter Dawud Wharnsby Ali and others, as part of Islam Awareness Week 2015.
There has been much focus on Muslims in Britain over recent months, questions around integration, the rise of “extremism”, what do Muslims think about “freedom of speech” as well as whether Islam is responsible for terrorism? With so many pressing questions, it is always nice to have an opportunity for some answers as well to gain an insight into what being a British Muslim really means.
In 2015, the theme for National Islam Awareness Week is ‘Give A Little of Yourself’. It celebrates and champions the givers that enrich our society and country. We hope it will encourage many of us to consider the act of giving a little more of ourselves. Because these personal acts do make a difference.
It is with this theme in mind that we have invited a range of individuals and organisations who are ‘giving a little of themselves’, so that we can join hands and work together to make Britain a great place for all.
We look forward very much to meeting you.
