Ramadan 2015 at the BMHC

For the Holy month of Ramadan, the British Muslim Heritage Centre (BMHC) made arrangements for Taraweeh (Ramadan evening prayer) and Iftars (fast-breaking meals) were held every Saturday and every day during the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Up to 700 people packed the Centre every evening to attend the taraweeh prayers. The prayers and Qur’an recitation were inspiringly led by Sheikh Abu Barah from Manchester and Sheikh Mohammed Salata from Egypt. Together they enabled worshippers to have the pleasure of listening to their individual and unique styles of recitation, which was a most beautiful and fulfilling experience for all those who attended.

On the day of Eid, families attended the two Eid prayers en mass. We estimate that at least 3,000 people attended the two Eid prayers. This year the Eid prayers were held in the main building and also in the new marquee.
