Remembering Srebrenica

To mark the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre that took place during the Bosnian war where in July 1995 between 11th and 15th July 1995 8,000 Muslim boys and men were round up executed and buried in fields of Srebrenica.

Remembering Srebrenica held a full programme of commemorative events, both nationally and locally, to mark this important date.

There were more than 200 memorial events across the United Kingdom during the Srebrenica Memorial Week, which ran from 5-12 July 2015.

As part of Srebrenica Memorial Week the British Muslim Heritage Centre in partnership with the Manchester Council of Mosques and other NGOs organised a special memorial service on Wednesday 8th July 2015. The event was attended by almost 400 people attended the service.
